Day two of the semester.
Go back to the image from Tuesday and look at the letter "V" at the bottom of the ad.
I want you to study the construction of that letter (see how it looks dimensional?), and back on the same page as Tuesday I want you to create the initials from your first and last name in that same style.
Ready, go!

Daily Sketchbook 8/31

Last time we sketched out what you will need for your "mindful moment" image each time we do that for your daily sketchbook. By the way, I will be trying to do the mindful moments on a consistent basis this year, but if it would be helpful for you to do them more frequently, just let me know.

At any rate, please use some ink and/or a marker and/or a micron pen to make your sketch from last time look like the one below.

Each time we do a mindful moment in class you will be expected to photograph and upload this image. Please please please know that I need you to have this image finished before you come to class on Friday.
If you do not finish it in our first 15 minutes today please use tomorrow's daily sketchbook time to finish "inking" this. Thank you in advance.

Daily Sketchbook 2/22

Welcome back from your week of NOT school. I hope it was relaxing and productive.
I get to see you three times this last week of Feb. so I thought I would end this month with a set of quotes.

Your task is to make them all visually interesting. Think about layout and typeface and length of time to complete them (remember, 15 min).
You shouldn't just write them as you would write notes in another class, but think about the words and how they use space. You may embellish in any way you want as long as I can still read the final product.
You may also use your "day off" daily sketchbook to finish/finalize your idea so that you don't spend 30 or more minutes of class time working on this (I'm thinking of drawing the quote in class and inking it and/or adding additional elements in this example). I mean, they are all good and though provoking quotes so you might want a good looking final version of them for yourself, right?
